Inside, you’ll find a welcoming living area with soft lounges, a fireplace for cooler nights, and a
dining space to share meals and unwind. The cottage kitchen is both elegant and functional,
featuring a cooktop, microwave, washing machine, beautiful stone bench tops, quality cookware,
and curated pantry essentials – everything you need to cook, create, and feel right at home..Each
cottage features two bedrooms – one with a king bed and one with two singles. We also offer an
additional bed for larger families, and cots can be provided upon request. Bathrooms include a
shower, and all cottages have fans and the essentials for a relaxed stay.
For quiet evenings, you can enjoy a collection of books, wellness magazines, board games, and
classic DVDs. Outside, your private deck is furnished with outdoor seating and a BBQ – ideal for
sunset dinners and soaking up the fresh country air.
Wander the open fields, meet our friendly animals – sheep, cows, a pony, and our curious deers
especially one called Bambi – or follow a walking trail through the rainforest to a hidden waterfall.
Down by the dam, you’ll find picnic spots, kayaks, and a fire pit – the perfect setting for
marshmallows and stories under the stars.
Whether you're here to disconnect, reconnect, or simply rest, our cottages offer a rare and
peaceful getaway in nature.
Animals at Sherwood Farm
Sherwood Farm is home to a small group of friendly animals who have been part of this land long before it became a holiday stay. When the farm was sold to its current owner, David, we lovingly inherited a pony, sheep, cows, and even a reindeers—and we’ve continued to care for them ever since.
You’ll most likely be greeted each morning by the reindeers, especially our sweet girl Bambi, who adores human company and isn’t shy about saying hello. They love apples or banana scraps, but please don’t feed the animals anything else, as their diet is carefully managed.
For their safety, we kindly ask that you don’t open any gates—these animals have never lived in the wild and rely on us for care and protection.
Throughout your stay, you’ll also spot plenty of native birds and, if you’re lucky, a kangaroo or two hopping through the property. Take your time, soak it in, and enjoy the peaceful rhythm of life here.
On-Site Support
Our friendly Bik caretaker lives right next to the property and is here to help with any maintenance needs or special requests you may have during your stay. From time to time, you might see him driving around, looking after the land, animals, and cottages—he’s part of what keeps Sherwood Farm running smoothly.
If you need anything at all, please don’t hesitate to reach out—we’re always happy to assist and want to make sure your stay is as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.
Important Numbers
We’ve left an Emergency Booklet in your cottage with all the key contacts and helpful information you might need during your stay. Please take a moment to familiarise yourself with it when you arrive
The Dam –
We’ve set up the dam area to be a peaceful spot where you can unwind, enjoy nature, or simply sit back and take in the view. You’ll find deck chairs, lounges, and picnic tables set up for your comfort, and you’re very welcome to use the kayaks provided.
For safety, life vests must be worn at all times while kayaking—the dam is deep in most places, reaching up to 4 metres.
There’s also a fire pit available for use—please be sure the fire is completely out before you leave, and take any rubbishwith you to help us keep the area clean and peaceful for the next guests.
Enjoy this little sanctuary—it’s one of our favourite spots on the farm.
We want everyone at Sherwood Farm to have a relaxing, enjoyable stay. To help keep things peaceful and safe for all guests (and the wildlife!),
Be mindful of others – You might see other guests around—everyone’s here to enjoy the calm, we have noise policy in place.
